DESC: The SMC EZ Connect cable modem (SMC8004CM) is a standards based cable modem that provides high-speed Internet access to both the residential and the small office and home office (SOHO) user. This cable modem operates on two-way cable systems enabling higher performance and taking advantage of DOCSIS 2.0 technology with asymmetric connections of up to 38 Mbps downstream and 30 Mbps upstream. To provide this high-speed connection, this cable modem functions as a bridge between the cable network and the PC using either the standard Ethernet or USB interface providing maximum flexibility and use.
