DESC: Composer: Jack Ingram. On THIS IS IT, his second album for the Big Machine label and first studio outing since 2004's YOUNG MAN, Jack Ingram offers up another well-honed set of country-rock tunes. Although considerably more accessible than predecessors such as Waylon Jennings and Steve Earle, the Texan singer/guitarist balances pop-inclined tracks (see the uplifting "Lips of an Angel," which, oddly enough, is originally by the rock band Hinder) with charming doses of twang and grit, as the gentle "Ava Adele" and the energetic "Measure of a Man" respectively reveal. While Ingram remains underrated, THIS IS IT reinforces his considerable talents, and should deservedly garner him a wider audience.
