DESC: The 1999 Monte Carlo is available in two models- LS and Z34. New for 1999, both models come standard with a rear window defroster and cruise control. Medium Auburn Nightmist Metallic replaces Deep Purple Metallic as an exterior color. Optional amenities include a power sliding moonroof, premium stereo with CD, leather seating and a rear deck spoiler. The Monte Carlo LS features the 3.1-liter V6 engine while the Z34 is available with the more powerful 200-hp 3.8-liter V6. Standard on both models are power windows, power locks, air conditioning and an AM/FM stereo with cassette. Concerning safety, daytime running lights, crush zones, an energy absorbing steering column, four-wheel anti-lock brakes and dual front airbags are also standard.
