DESC: This sci-fi staple of 1970s Saturday morning television originally aired from 1974-1977, subsequently achieving cult status, largely due to a strong word-of-mouth campaign, its stop-motion animation, endearing special effects, and the quality of its writing. The show followed the adventures of Ranger Rick Marshall and his two children, Will and Holly, whose canoeing trip takes an unexpected turn when they accidentally tumble over a waterfall and enter the Land of the Lost. This is an alternate, ancient realm peopled by the peaceful, Neanderthal-esque Pakuni tribe, as well as the evil lizard creatures known as the Sleestaks, which only come out at night and are afraid of fire. The family also encounters a number of dinosaurs--both friendly and otherwise--the Abominable Snowman, and even Medusa.
