DESC: Like a line from a Dickens novel, you could say that it's both an exciting and frustrating time for television. High Definition television (HDTV) is now available from a number of sources with more on the way, but Standard Definition (SD) signals are still the norm. If you want it all, you need an entertainment system that's compatible with both SD and HD formats. This cosmopolitan component goes both ways with ease. Both the satellite tuner and the integrated off-air tuner are compatible with SD and HD signals. The TUDP811 is compatible with all four popular standard and high definition video signals currently in use. HD connectivity is provided by a DVI output and HD component video outputs. If you're hooked up to an HD compatible TV and watch SD programming, the SD signal is automatically upconverted to HD. S-Video and composite A/V connections are also provided for hooking up to a standard definition TV.
