DESC: A tribute to the impact of Italian culture and tradition on American pop, THE ITALIANS highlights the brilliant musical work of Italian-American crooners from three fruitful decades -- the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. From the Doo Wop of Frank Valli and his Four Seasons to the bubblegum Mickey Mouse pop of Annette Funicello to the mod sounds of Frank Sinatra's offspring, Nancy, the diverse stylings of this second generation immigrant group is showcased. Other artists included here are Bobby Darin, teen heartthrob Dion, and of course, Sonny and Cher. Along with all of this fine audio is a short documentary, narrated by actor Robert Loggia, called "Growing Up Italian."
