DESC: Have fun with Ord, Cassie, Emmy and Max. Based on the popular PBS Kids preschool series, Dragon Tales: Dragon Wings allows young players to assume the role of blustery Ord or cute Cassie. The game focuses on moving rocks, lighting torches, carrying Emmy and Max and performing other peaceable errands. The garrulous Quetzal outlines each mission, which typically has several objectives. Each objective has a time limit. Collecting berries is an additional challenge, but not necessary to advancing. There are three difficulty levels. Developer Zed Two has perfectly captured the colorful look of the series and has included the bouncy Dragon Tales theme. The very gradual learning curve seems perfectly pitched for young players. However, the lengthy instructions in a hand-drawn font will challenge beginning readers. Also, the finicky hit detection -- you have to be in just the right place to pick up a rock or drop off one of the children -- might tax the patience of young players.
